On the right track

Many things have happened for Choo-Choo Tim since my last blog. My wonderful wife has become my sidekick; she calls herself "Stylin' Nellie". Together, we have done alot of traveling and had lots of fun ministering for our Lord Jesus Christ.

I've also constructed a trackless train that allows people to have fun riding on a train. I use it at many events such as vacation bible school, church events, community and private events. It has become quite the "little engine that could". Earnings its own First Place Award in a recent parade! It seems that everything that the little train has done (#97) has really been blessed of the Lord. I review this as a confirmation that Choo-Choo Tim Ministries must be on the right track.

Please pray for our ministry as we continue to follow the Lord's direction and be watching for our new website that is currently under construction for updated posts in the future.

Thank you kindly,
Choo-Choo Tim

Life's Railway

One of my favorite train songs is "Life's Railway To Heaven". It is a great analogy of our journey through life. I grew up in the mountains of Virginia and I know how twisted and turning it is to travel through them, it can be very dangerous! Even though the tracks are laid in place the Engineer must be very careful not to go to fast around the curves and know when to slow the train down as he approaches a steep decline, he must know exactly when to apply the brakes to descend the mountain safely, If he gets the brakes too hot they will cease to work and the inevitable will happen, the train will lose all braking systems and will speed out of control. That very thing happened in Virginia on September 27th 1903 when Engineer Steve Broady (while trying to make up a "behind time" schedule) got "Old 97" rolling too fast! At the foot of the 3 mile grade was a crescent shaped trestle, when 97 approached the trestle it was going too fast and didn't make the turn, instead it continued straight off the trestle and into the ravine below, Steve may have reached the city of Danville, Va. but he didn't make his arrival, in fact, HE didn't make it at all.
We are taught to stay the course and run the race of life not allowing distractions to blur our focus and purpose much like the second verse of the song,
" You will roll up grades of trial; you will cross the bridge of strife; See the Christ is your conductor; on the lightning train of life; Always mindful of obstruction, do your duty, never fail; keep your hand upon the throttle, and your eye upon the rail." WOW! If we can just follow those instructions, when the dangers of life approach us, we will be prepared to meet them and know in our hearts what to do! Keep your hand upon the throttle, and your eye upon the rail!

On the right track

The train is a magnificent machine. Designed for a particular purpose, it is equipped with exactly what it needs to function it's purpose. I am always amazed to watch them as they move to and fro and wonder what it must be like to have the responsibility of being the engineer. Unlike any other mode of transportation, the trains course has already been laid. Each destination requires a certain number of tracks that have already been put in position. Up ahead, there are switches that move the train from one track to another as it chooses different routes to reach its destination - but it is up to the engineer when to make the transitions to achieve the tasks that have been assigned to him. Isn't that a beautiful analogy when compared to our Christian walk? God has given us everything we need to accomplish the task that He has assigned for us. He has pre-laid the tracks we are to travel, but we must choose which transitions will put us on the proper route to reach our destination. Isn't that just like God to put everything in place from the beginning to the end but leave it to us to choose which way to go to get there? Make no mistakes, there is a purpose, there is a plan, and there is an ultimate goal that God wants each of us to achieve in our lives. Not all of the routes lead to the same place. As God reveals each task for us everyday, we must choose the route to take. One thing to remember is that the engineer doesn't know His destination until he gets his assignment. So, he must communicate with the one who decides where he is to go and what he is to do. In order to achieve our tasks, we must always check in with the "THE ONE" who has our assignment in hand and ready to give the command. Have you talked to Him today? Have you listened to Him today? Get to it.
